Ship manoeuvrability is closely related to the safety of ship operation in a real seaway; therefore predicting ship's manoeuvring characteristics great importance. However, estimating performance waves challenging because complex fluid-structure interactions between hull, rudder, propeller and waves. Traditional methods for study waves, based on mathematical models combined with potential flow theory, cannot accurately effectively incorporate effect ship. On other hand, unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) computations are capable resolving high accuracy. The main objective this carry out fully nonlinear RANS simulation predict behaviour KRISO Container (KCS) model different wave conditions. A dynamic overset grid method was used purpose large motions rudder movement. course keeping control module feedback system embedded deflection according standard manoeuvre mechanisms.
